Whistleblower

A lot of bad things can happen in your workplace, including illegal activities such as fraud or violations of Sarbanes-Oxley. Sometimes employees who report illegal activities are retaliated against or fired for doing so. There are a number of possible whistleblower claims so it is best to quickly contact an attorney to learn about your rights.

For example, Colorado’s Health Care Whistleblowers statute prohibits disciplinary action, including termination, against certified, registered, or licensed health care workers who report good faith concerns or disclosures about patient safety or the quality of patient care. If you are a health care worker in the medical field and were terminated or disciplined after you reported concerns about the safety of your patients, your employer may have violated this statute. You could also have a claim for wrongful discharge in violation of public policy.
